Alex Walker was inspired by his contact with French artist Raoul Dufy who also designed fashion textiles. Walker's own painterly designs were often based on landscapes in Cornwall where he he founded Cryséde Silks. This sample is stamped with its 1930 Manchester Design Registry number which protected it from use by other manufacturers.
