This pattern was designed by the artist and designer Claude Lovat Fraser in 1914, however this particular piece of fabric dates from a reissue of the pattern in 1973 by Liberty of London Prints Ltd. While the original design featured red houses with blue roofs on a black ground, this example shows blue houses with yellow roofs on a red ground. The colourway of this fabric was devised by Liberty's then design and colour consultant Susan Collier.
