Multi-coloured woven silk fragment using the soumak technique. Egyptian, Ottoman period ca. AD1500-1700. The pattern is of maroon diamonds with internal geometric designs of black/red or yellow/blue. There are a number of holes across the piece and some areas are soil encrusted.
