Furnishing fabric of woven cotton, Jacquard woven with full width and both selvedges intact. The design shows a half drop repeating motif of pairs of peacocks sitting under stylised trees. The pattern is woven in blue and green with brown tree trunks onto a white ground.

The fabric surface has a ribbed appearance. The coloured threads are all contained in the mercerised warp with the weft consisting of alternate black and white twisted threads with a fine black binding weft.

Production
The design was drawn in the Silver Studio (No 13638) and sold to Leborgne of Lannoy, near Lille, who produced the woven fabric.
