Artist/Maker | |
Place of origin |
Furnishing fabric of fine 'peacock blue' silk warp with a coarser rayon weft forming a modified twill ground. The weft is shaded gradually from a deep mauve at each end to a red/mauve mixture in the central area. Brocaded in pale yellow rayon along the right selvedge is a pseudo-Grecian frieze with a repeat of crossed, slender leafy stems enclosing laurel wreaths in the inter spaces. This has a narrow geometric border on the right.
