Furnishing fabric made of a blue silk warp hand-woven with a coarser magenta rayon weft forming a vertical, zigzag or waved twill. The lower half is brocaded with a larger pair of addorsed regardant mythical creatures (gryphon and chimera) holding laurel branches in their claws. The supplementary wefts are deep scarlet rayon.


Ruth Lodge's monogram is brocaded within the coiled tail of the right hand monster. The selvedges are turned, roughly hemmed and have narrow cotton crêpe printed stripes (blue and white) attached to the remainder of a lining.
