Historical context
Borås Wäfveri AB are one of the largest Scandinavian textile manufacturers, with outlets worldwide. They produce high quality, modern designs for the middle market. The product range includes yarns, furnishing fabrics, upholstery fabrics, bedding, roller blind fabrics, shower curtains and fabrics for work clothes. The Company operates through the following divisons: industrial, production of textiles and yarn, washable fabrics, polyester, artificial silks, bed linen and other household products; commercial, marketing of household textile products through mail-order and general retail. Industrial sales accounted for 79% of 2000 revenues, commercial sales 19%.

Borås the city is a transportation and commercial centre and Sweden's leading textile centre, with numerous cotton and woollen mills. Borås was founded in 1632 by Gustavus II.
