This is an architectural drawing for bedroom 2 for a Top Rank motor inn by the architect, Thomas Calloway. The drawing depicts two chairs around a table on which is a lamp. Against the far wall are two single beds, set apart with an anglepoise lamp on a shelf by the bedstead. There is a rectangular desk attached to this shelf near the window and a chair with arms in front of it. There is a window wall with brownish-orange curtains. The wall and ceiling are white. The drawing is in watercolour, and bodycolour which is a form of watercolour where the colours have been made opaque by the addition of white pigment. The drawing is a presentation drawing which is a design finished to a high standard for display to a client.

This architectural drawing was given to the Victoria and Albert Museum by Stephen Calloway, son of the architect, Thomas Calloway, and also Curator in the Word & Image Department of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Production
Stephen Calloway, son of the architect, stated that 'all the drawings by my father date from 1962-66. They are mostly to the earlier end of those four years.'
