This is an architectural drawing for a restaurant and bar for a Top Rank motor inn by the architect, Thomas Calloway. The drawing shows the interior of a restaurant and bar in different shades of brown with black chairs, with square seats and backs, around square, white tables in the foreground. The bar, above which are hanging lights, is to the right side. This is a presentation drawing which is a design finished to a high standard for display to a client. The drawing is in pen and ink, watercolour, and bodycolour which is watercolour made opaque by the addition of white pigment.

This architectural drawing was given to the Victoria and Albert Museum by Stephen Calloway, son of the architect, Thomas Calloway. Stephen Calloway is a part-time curator in the Word & Image Department in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Production
Stephen Calloway, son of the architect, stated that 'all the drawings by my father date from
1962 - 1966. They are mostly to the earlier end of those four years.'
