It is one of many graphic expressions of 'Alien' culture, inspired by science fiction films such as 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' made in 1977 and TV shows such as 'The X-Files' first aired in 1993, where abductions by aliens is the theme. There are also references to drug culture. By 1998 the poster had sold in excess of 320,000 copies worldwide.
