Oblong snuff box, enamel on copper, painted in polychrome enamels. On the lid is a painting of a lady and gentleman in court costume of about 1750, shaking hands, in a room with an armchair to the right and a hat on a table to the left. On the sides are panels, surrounded by yellow rococo scrolls, in each of which is a half-length figure of a lady (in one case accompanied by a man in fancy dress), shown as if seated in a box at a theatre. On the bottom is a rose spray. With a chased gilt metal mount.
