Oval snuff box, enamel on copper, painted in polychrome enamels, and gilded. On the lid is a group of a youth and a lady with a birdcage, sitting on the ground at the foot of a monument in a garden, and a second youth standing behind playing a mandolin. The painting is surrounded by raised gilt scrolls on a greenish-brown ground dotted with white. On the sides, reserved on a ground of the same colour diapered with raised white dotted trelliswork, are four small landscapes enclosed by gilt scrolls with details as follows: (1) two men and sheep near an obelisk; (2) two men with sheep by a pond; (3) a man driving a cow towards a building; (4) two men beside a tower. With a gilt metal mount.
