This jigsaw, made in the 1950s, was posted to the donor free after she sent away to Fry's chocolate company. It is a double-sided puzzle of fourteen interlocking pieces. One side is black and white squares, and the other features a colour-printed advert for the 'Punch' bar, with the slogan 'and you're pleased as Punch!'

Physical description | plain brown envelope containing a plain brown square of card, a printed sheet of instructions and a puzzle of 14 non interlocking pieces which is in angled shapes and double sided one side shows black and whiate squares and the aim of the puzzle is to reconstruct it on this side; the other side is printed in colours to show an advertisement for Fry's Milk Punch, a chocolate bar with milk chocolate, caramel and fudge, price 4d. |

Object history | This puzzle was one of a series produced to advertise chocolate products. It was sent off for by the donor, Anne Purse (nee Colborne, born 17/09/1943), who says it was quite a bonus to have free (or nearly so) toys. She played with it a lot. |
