Octagonal panel; white silk embroidered with festoons of ribbon bows, flower garlands and tassels, surrounding a pendant map of the "Western, or New World" (showing the Americas and Australia) worked in fine black silk against white, flanked with figures, the left depicting a woman with a bird-cage in her lap showing a cross to a child, the right depicting the 18th century concept of an Indigenous American with a feathered headdress, bow, and leopardskin apron. Glazed and framed in an octagonal narrow wooden marquetry frame.
