Object history
This set is on the same principle as Meccano sets. As it was made in Northampton it is possible that the manufacturer was Bassett-Lowke, a firm like Meccano, which produced model trains.
There is reference in Games & Toys to this trade name under the London firm of distributors Gross & Schild who normally dealt with imported toys from various European countries.
Games & Toys Feb 1934 has a short article on Trix that features a company, Trix Ltd which is also advertised in this issue
