Object history | Lithyalin glass was produced from about 1828-40 by Friedrich Egermann in Bohemia and was patented under this name. Made in a variety of colours, it was an opaque glass, usually with a highly polished finish, that simulated the look of semi-precious stones. This type of glass was copied by many different factories until about 1855. |
