Pair of vases , Lithyalin glass, cut Bohemia (possibly Blottendorf), about 1830 Gift of S. G. Perceval (98 &A-1889) Lithyalin glass was produced from about 1828-40 by Friedrich Egermann in Bohemia and was patented under this name. Made in a variety of colours, it was an opaque glass, usually with a highly polished finish, that simulated the look of semi-precious stones. This type of glass was copied by many different factories until about 1855. .

Lithyalin glass was produced from about 1828-40 by Friedrich Egermann in Bohemia and was patented under this name. Made in a variety of colours, it was an opaque glass, usually with a highly polished finish, that simulated the look of semi-precious stones.
