Object history
Deriving from the shaft and globe bottle of the 17th Century, this type seems to have survived until the mid-18th Century, both plain and cut. The similar decanters associated with the sets of Jacobite drinking glasses found at Chastleton Manor and Oxborough Hall may have been engraved later.
