Shape no. 1569. Said by the makers to be a copy of a German stoneware 'Schwarzwald' bottle of the 1780s, in the Germanisches Museum, Nuremberg. Harry Powell visited Nuremberg in 1904. Silver cork' (2) MoL Archive 3252/1 Harry Powell notebook 'Glasses with Histories' Flat Schwarzald bottle in Germanisches Museum Nürnberg sold with silver cork taken from one of the small domed pinnacles in Nuremberg the bottle is engraved with a wreath and dated '1782'.
