Place of origin |
This is a model for a holiday home in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico by Ricardo Legorreta (1931-2011). The Mexican architect is known for his use of traditional Central American architectural techniques over the international style of architecture which was prevalent in his homeland during the postwar years. This use of thick wall systems, of colour to enclose wall space and a concern for privacy are typical of his style.
This realised building differs greatly from this model which was created for an initial proposal for a private client.
