Bonnet of pale pink satin weave silk with a pink plain weave silk frill which has been fringed at the edges. On the top of the bonnet is a double rosette of pale blue and bright fuschia pink silk and at the back is a similar rosette of gathered-up white and black ribbon attached to a round of paper. The bonnet is secured with coloured cord ties endind in pompoms. A flower spray is embroidered in satin stitch in polychrome twisted embroidery thread on each side of the bonnet. It is lined with pink felt.

Part of a set of clothes for a child consisting of a jacket, a bib, two pairs of trousers, a bonnet, a headband and a pair of shoes. They were made for the vendor by wealthy elderly Chinese ladies living next door to her parents in Jinan, and presented to them in December 1915. The clothes never worn but treasured by vendor's mother. See FE.12-1986 for a more detailed history.
