Described in the 1879 Art Inventory as, "PAX. Carved and gilt wood, of gothic design, the centre painted with a representation of the Resurrection of our Lord. Acquired in Spain. Spanish. First half of 15th centy. H. 11 [and a half] in., W. 6 [and seven eighths] in. bought, 13 [pounds]".
