Gallery label
Like many artists from the Netherlands, Coecke travelled in Italy. His design for a tapestry series depicting the Life of Saint Paul uses a medieval modelof presenting multiple scenes in one composition. It shows the influence of Italian artists such as Raphael in the frieze-like composition and the bold poses of the figures.
