Yukata literally means 'bathing clothes'. These garments were worn not only after a bath, but as informal summer kimono. Made of cotton and usually stencil resist-dyed with indigo blue, they were the embodiment of casual chic for both men and women. This yukata was probably for a man. (29/02/2020)
