Production | This tea-bowl does not seem to belong to the raised anchor or early red anchor periods like most other pieces of its form. The clear glaze and sharp tones of the enamel painting suggest that it may belong to the earliest years of Duesbury's management at Chelsea, like a number of other pieces with its combination of shape and decoration. Most earlier pieces of this form have ground foot-rims. (J.V.G. Mallet) |
