Artist/Maker | |
Place of origin |
Showroom Dummies is a design collective comprising artist Abigail Lane, fashion designer Brigitte Stepputtis, printer Bob Pain and Edwin Wright, a designer and maker of furniture and theatre props. The group has so far specialised in making wallpapers and other printed furnishings. This screen was made as part of a commission from Mulberry, a leather goods and fashion company, for the decoration of their London stores and window displays for Christmas 2004. Hence the image of reindeer on one side of the screen, and a rococo-style abstract pattern (actually an arrangement of reindeer bones and antlers) on the other. (This pattern was also produced as a wallpaper, also in the V&A: E.258-2005).
