This marble statue depicts St Peter as Pope, seated in an act of benediction. He is robed and wears the papal tiara, shoes and jewelled gloves. He has a short beard and moustache and is seated on a plain block raising from a plinth. His left hand holds two keys and supports a book resting on his knee; his right hand is raised in the attitude of benediction.

Physical description | Statue, marble, representing St Peter as Pope, seated in the act of benediction. He is robed in alb, dalmatic and chasuble (the two latter having orphreys enriched with a raised wavy stem with trefoil leaves), and wears the papal tiara, shoes and jewelled gloves. He has a short beard and moustache and is seated on a plain blcok raising from the plinth, on the front of which is the following inscription in raised Gothic lettering:- S.P.PA (sanctus Petrus Papa). His left hand holds two keys and supports a book resting on his knee; his right hand is raised in the attitude of benediction. |
