Historical context
'In 1801 Constable painted for Mr. Jon Reade a view of 'Old Hall, East Bergholt' (see note following No. 32, and No, 42a). Nos. 21-32 are pages from the sketchbook he used on his visit to Derbyshire in the same year.'
