Charles Csuri scanned a hand-drawn image of a horse fly into the computer. He then replicated it using a random number generator that determined the size, orientation and location of each fly. Csuri trained in both fine art and engineering, and was one of the first pioneers to work with recognisable subject matter rather than abstract geometric imagery.
