PUNCH BOWL Stone, Cocquerel et Le Gros Manufacturers France (Creil and Paris): about 1810 White earthenware, transfer-printed in black C.789-1914 The Creil factory, established in 1796, made English style creamwares (Stone was a native of Taunton and Cocquerel had English connections). Its white wares were printed with overglaze transfers at the associated Stone Cocquerel et Le Gros premises in Rue St. Merry, Paris. This bowl shows Heveningham, Beeston, and Asgill House in Richmond, with Roman ruins and deities. It is marked: CREIL impressed and SCL monogram within a circle of the words PAR BREVET D'lNVENTION, MANUFre D'lMPRESSION SUR FAIENCE, PORCELAINE etc. PARIS.
