The work of Yi In-jin is laregely inspired by the forms and decorative techniques employed in the making of Korean earthenware storage jars for condiments. The artist fires his vessel in a wood-burning kiln in order to create a scorched effect. His works are typically embellished with scattered indentations either made by his own hand, as in this jar, or by a sharp implement. Yi In-jin is a Korean potter who trained at Hongik University and in California.
