Plate of earthenware painted with enamels, and in the middle are the arms of Valperga of Piedmont, consisting of barry of six or and gules, a hemp plant vert. The cartouche is ensigned by a count's coronet surmounted by an episcopal hat and cross. With the family motto 'FERME FOY'. On the rim a border of oak-leaves and acorns in green and brown between brown lines.

One of two plates with 414:1136-1885 (Sch. II 342). The arms are probably those of Carlo Eugenio Valperga, Bishop of Nice from 1780-1801.
