The bowl has straight sides and a flat base. It is decorated with white and black inlaid decoration and covered with a greyish green celadon glaze. The interior is adorned with a chrysanthemum within a double circle surrounded by cranes amongst clouds on the base and ducks and reeds on the sides. The exterior has chrysanthemums alternating with butterflies between bands of squared spirals and small rings. There is a firing fault near the foot.
