Each panel is embellished with autumn foliage and pheasants; chrysanthemums, birds, and rocks; pomegranates, birds, and rocks; lotuses, ducks, and rocks; rocks, lilies, peonies, birds; chrysanthemums, peacocks, and rocks; plums, rocks, and birds; and peacocks, peonies, and rocks, suggesting that this folding screen was used in women’s quarters.
