Rectangular certificate of landscape proportions, printed in black on ivory-coloured card, and inscribed in ink. The rectangular panel containing the wording has a decorative border with three shields at the corners: three sides of the border show fish swimming in water, the fourth is formed by a banner showing the E.L.S.A.A.'S name in full among the branches of a tree which is at the centre of the panel. A boy and a girl wearing black swimming costumes stand back to back, one on each side of the tree, wth their arms raised as if to dive.
