Vase of tin-glazed earthenware, painted. A bird standing in an oriental landscape with rocks, bamboo, flowers and a butterfly surmounted by a band of lappets with geometric decoration. The lid has a butterfly, sprays of flowers and a band of ornament deriving from ju-i lappets. Both lid and base of vase have the number 11. All the decoration is in blue.
Body colour: Buff. Glaze: Bluish white. Many small dots in the glaze, particularly visible in painted areas.
Shape: Slightly concave on underside. (Alphabetic shape codes as used in appendix to Archer. Delftware. 1997)
