The painting of delftware in Bristol exceeded the standards found at London or Liverpool. It is even possible to attribute certain painting styles to known artists. But all the Bristol factories had gone out of business by the end of the 1700s. This was due to the invention of Wedgwood's creamware in the 1760s.
