Bottle of tin-glazed earthenware, painted. Geometric decoration and the date 1644 below the handle in blue. Body colour: Dark reddish buff. Glaze: Dull white.
Shape: Underside unglazed with possible traces of pale slip, concave without foot-rim. Handle of oval section, flatter on the inside with a concave depression on the terminal. Groove just below mouth. (Alphabetic shape codes as used in appendix to Archer. Delftware. 1997)
