Night-light holder of tin-glazed earthenware, painted. A woman with a basket in a landscape with sponged trees and a ruin with arches in blue.
Body colour: Buff.
Glaze: Greeny bluish white, pooling at the base on the outside and slightly crazed. A few pin-holes on the underside. Many small white dots in the glaze, particularly visible on painted areas.
Shape: Concave underside. There is an almost imperceptible string moulding running around the body at the sill level of the five windows. (Alphabetic shape codes as used in appendix to Archer. Delftware. 1997)
