Object history | Watercolour copy made for the Arundel Society and published in 1886 by Wilhelm Greve. The original painting was commissioned by Lucrezia Tornabuoni for a cell in the hermitage of Camaldoli, built by her husband Piero de Medici in 1463. The original painting has been at the Uffizi since 1919. |
