Left-hand vertical half of a tile once in the shape of an eight-pointed star, fritware. The decoration of palmettes and split palmettes is in reserve against a golden-brown lustre, and further details of dots and curls are scratched through the lustre. The border has an inscription painted in lustre on a white ground. (Translation of the inscription: "In the name of God! the Compassionate! the Merciful! God! There is no God but He! the Living! the Self-subsisting! Neither slumber seizeth Him nor sleep; His, whatsoever is in the Heavens and whatsoever is in the Earth. Who is there that can intercede with Him but by His own permission? He knoweth what is present with His creatures, and what is yet to befall them; yet nought of His knowledge do they comprehend, save what He willeth. His throne reacheth over the Heavens and the Earth, and the upholding of both burdeneth Him not, and He is the High, the Great! Let there be no compulsion in religion. Now is the right way made distinct from error" Koran: part of second Sura.)
