A brooch made to a design similar to these sketches is in the V&A Metalwork Collection, museum number M.37-1992. Chang trained as a sculptor in the late 1960s at Liverpool School of Art and at the Slade School of Art. He started to design and make jewellery in the early 1970s, initially using more traditional materials.
