Object history
This sketch accompanies a portfolio by Record Art [E.1707 to 1726-1992] in which they transformed record sleeve designs into fine art prints. As part of this process, they omitted any 'intrusive' typography, enlarged the images, introduced a 'platemark' and had a limited number signed by the designers.

Historical significance: The portfolio that this print is from represents the increasing reverence that was accorded to the vinyl record sleeve as its demise was threatened by the increasing popularity of the compact disc.
Production
The 'first issued' date given is the release date of the recorded album with the resulting sleeve design.
