Object history | This booklet accompanies a portfolio by Record Art [E.1707 to 1728-1992] in which they transformed record sleeve designs into fine art prints. As part of this process, they omitted any 'intrusive' typography, enlarged the images, introduced a 'platemark' and had a limited number signed by the designers. Historical significance: The portfolio of prints that this booklet accompanies represents the increasing reverence that was accorded to the vinyl record sleeve as its demise was threatened by the increasing popularity of the compact disc. |
