Object history | This print is from a portfolio by Record Art [E.1707 to 1728-1992] in which they transformed record sleeve designs into fine art prints. As part of this process, they omitted any 'intrusive' typography, enlarged the images, introduced a 'platemark' and had a limited number signed by the designers. Historical significance: The portfolio that this print is from represents the increasing reverence that was accorded to the vinyl record sleeve as its demise was threatened by the increasing popularity of the compact disc. |
Production | NB: This is a print developed from an earlier record sleeve design. The 'first issued' date given is the release date of the recorded album with the original sleeve design. |
