Place of origin |
The Capella Universitatis, if erected, would have stood at right-angle to the Clarendon Building with the entrance facing down Broad Street in Oxford. The plan for such a building is among Nicholas Hawksmoor's designs now in the Bodleian Library, but this drawing seems to be by Sir John Vanbrugh rather than his assistant. The style of drawing is similar to that in D.121-1891, which depicts a design for a long façade at Claremont.
