This teapot, simple in design, is inspired by Chinese wares. William Mehornay is known for his use of fine porcelain and although much of his work features brilliant coloured glazes, this teapot employs a transparent glaze which enhances the white of the porcelain body.

Mehornay, an American, set up a pottery in Richmond-upon-Thames, Surrey in 1975 having worked previously at Fen Ditton near Cambridge
