Hapshash and the Coloured Coat featuring the Human Host and the Heavy Metal Kids, was put together by the artists and Guy Stevens, a record producer for Island records. The Heavy Metal Kids provided the instrumental drive and the Human Host were anyone who cared to join the act. Heavy Metal was a term first used by William Burroughs in Naked Lunch (1959). Nigel Waymouth made one more record under this name but the group finally disbanded in 1969."
