Imperial Debonair, from the series
American Cameras
1981
Inspired by Pop Art, this glossy, colour-saturated
photograph shows the camera as an object of
consumer desire. The Imperial Debonair was
introduced in about 1960. A plastic camera,
it was available in a range of colours and one
version was marketed as the ‘Official Cub Scout
Camera’.
