This poster was made by Jones to advertise an exhibition of paintings he made between 1980 and 1988. The exhibition demonstrated the artist's transition from figuration in his work of the late seventies and early eighties to abstraction in the 1990’s. In the same year (1990) he had two other exhibitions in London- 'Malcolm Jones, Paintings 1983-86' at the Cafe Gallery, Southwark Park, and 'Beyond Structure' at the Chisenhale Gallery.
