'Lets hope together. Lets change together' is the headline of this campaign poster disseminated during the 1990 elections - the first democratic elections in Romania following the overthrow of communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu in December 1989. It portrays well-known members of the local intelligentsia who came forward as independent candidates for the Romanian Senate: Octavian Paler, Sorin Dumitrescu, Alexandru Pesamosca, Ascanio Damian, Petru Cretia, and Ioan Marchis. Text on the poster indicates that the Group for Social Dialogue (GDS) supports the candidates pictured.
